Job Description
Mechanical Inspector
JOB OBJECTIVE:
- To conduct field inspections, tests and verifications of materials received at site, the fabrication works, the installation works executed by the contractors for all mechanical works during execution and supervise & witness all process of testing & commissioning and start-up and handover to the user department/client.
- To participate in the review & approval process of ITP.
- Review the mechanical / process shop drawings, IFC drawings and ensure that the works are being executed according to the approved drawings.
- Review as built drawings and close out documents.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Project Monitoring & Reporting- Monitors Contactors/Consultants performance in executing projects
- Provide reports on timely manner
- Escalate issues/risks impacting project objectives recommend corrective/preventive actions to mitigate risks
Quality Control & Assurance:
- Perform inspections as per approved Inspection & test Plan
- Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as may be applicable & follow-up with relevant parties for timely closure of the NCRs.
- Prepare & maintain an up to date log of NCRs & report on periodic basis
Policies & Procedures
Follows all relevant Department/Unit policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Health, Safety & Environment:
Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety, and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, and a responsible environmental attitude.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Qualifications:
Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and or any other relevant Engineering fields
Certification from AWS-CWI, ASNT or any other equivalent will be an added advantage.
Minimum Experience:
- 5 years of experience as piping/mechanical engineer or inspector.
