Responsibilities
Our newest opportunity is for a talented Senior Project Architect to join our team, based in Dubai, UAE.
We envisage success in this role to include:
- Assesses the requirements of a project, breaks a project down into tasks, and works with the Design Division and Project Manager to determine scope of work, budget, and staffing.
- Writes scope of work for architectural design based on preliminary review and meeting with project management and the client.
- Maintains knowledge of applicable local and international building codes, works with code officials, and when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required.
- Reviews work of project design team. Checks progress of works and alerts Project Manager to change of scope or additional services.
- Coordinates all aspects of project document completion within firm and externally with clients in the presence of the Project Manager and other design professionals.
- Promotes use of and participates in development of company design and production standards.
- Assists in the education and development of design and project staff and acts as resource for design questions.
- Maintains neat and organized work area which allows efficient access to project information required by other project and team members.
- Holds regular project progress review meetings with all concerned engineers and disciplines.
- Ensures QA/QC procedures are being implemented and any QA/QC comments or issues are being addressed.
- Submits and follows-up on all required design submittals to the various governmental agencies to obtain the necessary approvals and/or permits.
- May attend meetings on behalf of Project Manager (PM) with client.
- Provides follow-up on outstanding client actions as requested by PM.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 10+ years of relevant experience, partnered with a bachelor's degree and licensed as an architect.- LEED highly regarded. Member of RIBA and/or AIA.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD Architecture, Revit Architecture, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
