AWS Cloud Pre-Sales Engineer
Job Description
Were seeking an AWS Cloud Pre-Sales Engineer with 3+ years of hands-on AWS experience to lead discovery, shape solution architectures, and support sales cycles across UAE and KSA. Youll translate business goals into secure, scalable AWS designs, produce proposals/SoWs, run demos/POCs, and co-sell with AWS to win and grow customer workloads.
Key Responsibilities- Lead technical discovery, requirements gathering, and solution scoping with customers.
- Architect secure, scalable AWS solutions (Landing Zone/Control Tower, networking & hybrid, serverless, containers, data/analytics, security, observability).
- Create HLD/LLD docs, diagrams, BoMs, effort estimates, and pricing using AWS calculators; deliver compelling proposals and SoWs.
- Run demos, workshops, Well-Architected Reviews, and POCs; define success criteria and deliver outcomes.
- Present to technical and executive audiences; simplify complex topics into business value and ROI/TCO.
- Collaborate with AWS account teams on co-sell (ACE), MAP/OLA/WAFR funding, Marketplace strategies, and deal acceleration.
- Ensure security, compliance, and cost-optimization best practices (IAM, KMS, WAF, Security Hub, Budgets/Cost Explorer).
- Maintain CRM hygiene, forecast technical risks, and support handover to delivery with clear artifacts.
- 3+ years designing/implementing on AWS across core services: VPC/TGW/DX, IAM/KMS, EC2/EBS/ASG, S3/CloudFront, RDS/DynamoDB, Lambda/API Gateway, ECS/EKS, CloudWatch/X-Ray.
- Strong grasp of migration & modernization patterns, data integration (Glue/Athena/Redshift/DMS), and DevOps (CI/CD, IaC with Terraform).
- Proven pre-sales track record.
- Excellent communication, whiteboarding, and executive presentation skills.
- Certifications:AWS Solutions Architect Associate (minimum);Professionalpreferred.
Good to have
Experience with MAP/OLA/WAFR funding, AWS Marketplace, and multi-account governance.
Knowledge of security/compliance in regulated industries (FSI, Public Sector, Healthcare).
Containers/Kubernetes production experience; GitOps; FinOps.
SAP on AWS, VMware to AWS, Red Hat/OpenShift, or security stacks (Trend Micro, Fortinet).
Arabic language skills; GCC customer engagement; willingness to travel (UAE/KSA).
