Officer - Engineering

REPORTING To: Plant Lead - Engineering

ROLE CONTEXT & PURPOSE

As part of a greenfield pharmaceutical manufacturing setup, the Officer - Engineering will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Management System in Engineering. This role ensures that all processes comply with regulatory standards and internal policies, contributing to the consistent production of high-quality pharmaceutical products.

• Create, update & maintain departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and engineering drawings.
• To create change controls, deviations, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as per Quality Management System for the Engineering Department.
• Investigate deviations, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and ensure timely resolution of quality issues.
• Preparation of URS, Quality Risk Assessments, Qualification documents (IQ, OQ) for new departmental projects.
• Oversee the qualification and validation of equipment, utilities, and facilities to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
• Conduct audits of engineering processes and assist in regulatory inspections.
• Provide training to engineering staff on QMS procedures and compliance requirements.
• Support initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency in engineering processes.
• Ensure that all engineering activities comply with GMP, FDA, and other regulatory requirements.

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical / Mechanical), or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in Quality Management Systems and Engineering within the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, preferably in the UAE.

• Familiarity with cGMP, GLP, and UAE regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in QMS software and documentation management systems.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
