Key Responsibilities
  • Act as focal point for coordination of worldwide inspection related activities with vendor, inspection agency, inspectors, company, and client.
  • Maintain records of inspection agencies and personnel approval along with their CV and credentials.
  • Acquire the suitable CV from TPIA for the specific inspections and ensure timely deployment of TPIA.
  • Maintain database to monitor performances of resident inspector / TPI inspector and provide inputs to SQMS coordinator for periodic analysis of data for improvement.
  • Assign inspector and inspection supervision in consultation with respective discipline inspectors.
  • Ensure that inspector is always having latest approved documents for his use for the inspection.
  • Coordinate with the respective discipline quality engineer and ensure that all relevant documents such as PO, PR, data sheets, drawings, procedures, ITP, WPS, PQR, etc. are provided to assigned inspectors (inspection assignment package).
  • Establish a system (e.g. PPCS) for tracking inspection notifications and execution of inspection until release note is issued.
  • Coordinate with TPIA on inspection assignments and getting the flash reports, weekly and monthly reports in a timely manner.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly inspection status report including 4 weeks look-ahead inspection schedule.
  • Maintain the inspection log with inspection man hours/spent against each purchase order.
  • Review inspection reports submitted by the inspector and forward the report to concerned discipline quality engineer or lead quality engineer and act upon their comments/feedback if any.
  • Coordinate among the parties (quality engineers, PMT, engineering discipline, construction, commissioning, inspection agencies, company, TPI etc.) relating to the inspection.
  • Responsible for communicating all stakeholders about the inspection notifications, activities, changes, reports etc. in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate for approval of invoices submitted by inspection agencies and help in monitoring the inspection budgets and their performances.
  • Responsible for record keeping of all vendor inspection documents (RFI, flash reports, inspection reports, test reports, punch lists, IRNs, etc.) for each PO in the project folder.
  • The inspection coordinator shall closely coordinate with inspector and quality engineer for closing of inspector comments and shall ensure all comments raised by the inspector are closed and updated IRs & test reports are kept in the respective project folder.
  • Maintain inspection log with all relevant information (PO, inspection stage, agency, visit dates, inspection level, inspection status, report received date, release note information, punch list, invoice references, etc.).
Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • Graduate in science or business management topics or degree/diploma in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience as a TPI coordinator in major EPC contractors, preferably in oil & gas, onshore/offshore projects.
