Data Center Engineer

Job Description

Salary Range: up to AED 5500

We are looking for a skilled Data Center Engineer with 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in server hardware deployment and data center operations. The role involves supporting client data centers across Dubai and the Northern Emirates by performing physical installation, configuration, maintenance, and vendor coordination.

• Install, configure, and maintain server and storage hardware in client data centers
• Conduct regular system health checks and maintain logs and reports
• Coordinate with vendors for technical support and on-site field engineer visits
• Escort vendor engineers during on-site activities and ensure proper execution
• Replace server components (CRUs) for HP, Dell, and Oracle systems
• Manage data center migrations: safely remove, transport, and reinstall hardware
• Submit or retrieve hardware and equipment from the warehouse based on client requests
• Handle magnetic tape-based backup activities
• Follow up on warranty replacements and RMA (Return Material Authorization) logistics
• Coordinate with internal facilities (EM) team for infrastructure-related tasks
• Maintain high-quality documentation of all activities and updates

Qualification and Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or related field or 3-Year Diploma in Computer/IT Engineering
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) – preferred
• Server Hardware Certification – required

Minimum Experience/Skills Required:

• 3 to 7 years of experience in data center operations or IT infrastructure support
• Practical experience working with server brands like HP, Dell, Oracle, Huawei, and Cisco
• Familiarity with cabling standards (fiber and copper)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Good understanding of UAE road network and locations for site visits
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Additional Responsibilities:

• Process hardware shutdowns and decommissioning activities
• Raise service tickets and maintain documentation in systems like HCM and Maximo
• Support data erasure and degaussing procedures in coordination with storage teams
• Maintain clear inventory and asset tracking throughout all data center activities
• Provide support during audits or physical inventory verifications
