Freelance Tally / ERP Support Specialist - Dubai (On-Site, Per Engagement)
Job Description
About Calculus
Calculus (https://calculus.tax) is a UAE e-invoicing compliance consultancy helping businesses prepare for the upcoming mandatory e-invoicing requirements under the Ministry of Finance's framework (Ministerial Decisions 243 and 244, Cabinet Decision 106/2025).We partner with a pre-approved Accredited Service Provider to deliver end-to-end compliance solutions, from gap analysis through ERP integration and go-live.
The Role
We're looking for a technically capable Freelance Specialist to handle on-site client deployments across the UAE. You'll be the person who walks into a client's office, sits with their accountant or IT manager, and executes a structured integration setup that our remote technical team has designed.
This is not a full-time position. Engagements are project-based, typically 1-3 days per client. Volume of work will increase as the July 2026 and July 2027 regulatory deadlines approach.
What You'll Actually Do- Visit client sites to assess their ERP environment (version, configuration, network setup, data structure)
- Install and configure lightweight connector agents on client machines, primarily for on-premise systems like TallyPrime
- Enable and test API/HTTP server settings on client ERPs
- Set up remote access (VPN, remote desktop) so our technical team can manage the integration remotely going forward
- Walk clients through a structured onboarding checklist: TRN verification, invoice field mapping, export template configuration
- Screen-share with our remote integration lead during complex setups, acting as hands-on-the-ground while receiving real-time guidance
- Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and go-live at client locations
- Document each site visit with a standardized deployment report
What We're Looking For
Must-have:
- Based in the UAE with ability to travel to client sites primarily in Dubai
- Hands-on experience with TallyPrime (configuration, navigation, data export — even if from a bookkeeping or audit background rather than development)
- Comfortable in Windows Server / Windows desktop environments: installing software, configuring services, basic networking (ports, firewall rules, localhost vs LAN)
- Professional client-facing presence — you'll be representing Calculus in corporate offices
- Fluent English plus Hindi or Arabic (our client base spans both demographics)
- Ability to follow a detailed technical runbook and escalate issues clearly when something deviates from the plan
Strong advantage:
- Background at a Tally reseller, IT services firm, ERP implementation consultancy, or accounting firm's technology team
- Experience with any of: Odoo, Zoho Books, SAP Business One, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks
- Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON/XML data formats, or basic scripting (Python, Node.js, PowerShell)
- Understanding of UAE VAT / tax compliance workflows
Not required:
- You do not need to write integration code. Our team handles connector development, middleware, and API architecture. Your role is deployment, configuration, and client-facing execution.
How This Works
You'll receive a deployment brief before each engagement with the client's ERP details, a step-by-step runbook, and the specific deliverables for that visit. Most engagements are 1-2 days. During complex setups, you'll screen-share with our remote lead who will guide you through the technical steps in real time.
We're building a roster of reliable associates we can call on as client volume grows through 2026 and 2027. Strong performers will get priority on new engagements as the pipeline scales.
