Job Description
Job Purpose
To manage, maintain, and secure Oracle/Apache middleware environments across the organization. The role is responsible for middleware operations, high availability, patch management, compliance, and remediation of vulnerabilities in coordination with internal teams such as Infrastructure and Vulnerability Management (Qualys).
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Middleware Administration & Operations- Install, configure, manage, patch, monitor and support of application/web servers on heterogeneous operating systems.
- o Oracle WebLogic 11g/12c/14c
- o Oracle HTTP Server 11g/12c
- o Oracle BI Publisher
- o Oracle Analytic Server 7.x and higher
- o Apache Tomcat 9.x, 10.x, 11.x
- o Apache Http 2.4
- Carry out Stress testing, performance tuning and capacity upgrades of middleware environments.
- Providing production support including on-call support - Analyzing, troubleshooting and formulating issue resolution, collaborate with application teams and product vendors.
- Monitoring system performance and issues that may impact availability of systems
- Review and work with compliance team to finalize and implement baseline security controls for middleware servers.
- Drive middleware hardening activities in line with organizational standards
- Securing middleware environments - SSL, security polices/settings.
- Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory security frameworks
- Coordinate and execute patching activities across middleware environments
- Work with enterprise patching tools
- Maintain and document the patch execution tracker.
- Collaborate with the Vulnerability Management team to analyze and remediate findings from Qualys reports
- Track, prioritize, and close security vulnerabilities within defined timelines
- Work closely with application, infrastructure, and security teams
- Support change management and release activities
- Maintain SOPs, documentation, and audit readiness artifacts
- Actively participate in 24x7 on-call rotation, providing support for critical incidents and escalations
- Ensure timely resolution of production issues and service restoration
- 4–7 years of experience in Orcale WebLogic/Oracle HTTP Server/ Oracle Analytics Server/ Apache Tomcat/ Apache HTTP Server Administration
- Strong expertise in middleware architecture, setup, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with Oracle/Apache Middleware technologies
- Knowledge of middleware security, compliance, and hardening practices
- Experience in enterprise patch management tools.
- Familiarity with Qualys or similar vulnerability management platforms
- Good communication and coordination skills
