We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced QS - Measurement to join our Team in the UAE.
Position Overview
Tendering activities mostly pre-contract duties such as: Preparation of Bill of quantities, quantity take-offs / measurements to various stages of documents from concept design, schematic, details, issue for construction stages, value engineering, cost plan, variation, identify any conflicts, raise relevant queries, coordination on the design, etc.and all relevant scopes / duties during tendering.
Core Job Functions
The individual will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Prepare BQ Measurements for all trades and sections required.
- Keeping backups such as Take-off sheet and CAD Measure / Mark-up for recon purposes showing measured items and locations.
- Sends RFI for any conflicts, missing information or unclear information between Documents and Drawing plans for clarification. Also, reviews RFI responses and amend any measurement that are necessary to update the BOQ.
- Reports to Team Leaders for his/her scopes of measurement and collaborates with other QS in the Team per project.
- Attends meetings with Sub-contractors / Client for reconciliation of measured quantities.
- Coordinates with Design / Technical / MEP / Fitout / Procurement Team if any issues that needs for clarification / collaborative meetings.
- Conducts site visit whenever possible to check site condition or perform on site measurement if necessary.
- Creates list of assumptions for measured works as necessary depending on the given information.
Committed to submit assigned BQ scope as per target deadlines, ensuring all are covered and measured correctly.
Requirements:
- Graduate of Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years or more as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction field with solid experience in Measurement and BQ production.
- Experience in High Rise Structures & Infrastructure Projects (e.g. Residential & Commercial, Retail, Hotels & Resorts, Themed Projects, Airport, Museums, etc.)
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent Analytical / Calculation skills.
- Excellent in Reading / Interpretation of Tender Drawing Plans, Details, Reports, Schedules, etc.
- Excellent in Quantity Surveying Measurement for all Sections (Structural, Architectural, ID, Steel, Miscellaneous Metals, Facade, Landscaping, Infra, etc.)
- Experienced in BOQ production (Creation of BOQ, Quantity Checking)
- Experienced in POMI, CESMM, NRM Standard method of measurement
- Experienced in software such as: CAD Measure / AutoCAD Software / Planswift or the like - used for measurement as tools
- Experienced in 3D Modelling software, BIM, Revit, Navisworks, and the like
- Experienced in PDF, Excel, Word, Power point, etc. all Microsoft applications
- Highly motivated individual, Team player and works independently with less supervision
