Our Client:
A prominent player in the agricultural commodities trading industry, focused on sourcing grains and other essential food ingredients across global markets. The company is expanding its analytical and procurement capabilities to support smarter, data-driven sourcing decisions.
Role Overview: As Finance Manager, you will lead the financial operations of the organization, ensuring strategic alignment with business goals. The role requires a well-rounded finance professional who can navigate informal governance structures, manage multi-jurisdictional financial flows, and interface effectively with stakeholders in Iraq and the broader Middle East.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes aligned with business goals.
Prepare and present financial reports, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, directly to the family.
Monitor and manage liquidity, ensuring smooth operations and project funding without reliance on external banking.
Oversee financial transactions, payroll, and record-keeping with accuracy and compliance.
Interface with Iraq-based stakeholders to manage cross-border financial operations.
Supervise and mentor a finance assistant to ensure operational excellence.
Ensure compliance with UAE tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
Develop financial models and investment analyses to support strategic decisions.
Collaborate with procurement and operations to control costs and improve profitability.
Stay informed on market trends and regulatory developments to guide long-term planning.
Must Haves:
812 years of finance experience in trading or FMCG sectors.
Prior exposure to family-run businesses and informal governance structures.
Strong understanding of trade finance instruments (LCs, SBLCs) is preferred.
Experience working across Middle Eastern markets, is an added advantage
Arabic language skills highly advantageous.
Excellent interpersonal and multicultural communication skills.
High integrity, discretion, and ability to build trust with family stakeholders.
