Director of Procurement
Job Description
A leadership role responsible for overseeing the implementation and management of a centralised procurement department. Focusing on procurement of consultants, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers for multiple projects across varying sectors across all stages from master planning to Handover.The role involves strategic planning, vendor management, contract negotiation, and ensuring cost-effective procurement practices; working closely with cross-functional teams, upholding highest standards of ethics and compliance, mitigating risk and maximizing commercial opportunities.
Key Activities:
Develop and implement procurement strategies to support the company&aposs development projects, ensuring compliance with parent company standards & regulations
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project managers, commercial managers and finance to ensure alignment between procurement objectives and budgets / commercial requirements and project execution
Work closely with Legal and Procurement Teams to ensure compliance and mitigate risk through the implementation of the correct Procurement strategies
Establish procurement processes for the award of consultancy services agreements, enabling works contracts, main contracts, subcontracts and supply agreements
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices and standard operating procedures and technology solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Communicate effectively with executive leadership to provide status updates, performance metrics, and strategic recommendations related to procurement activities
Forecast price trends and predict how they will affect the organisation
Effectively lead the tendering processes and evaluating bids before making recommendations that make the most commercial sense for the organisation
Develop strategies to ensure that supplier performance is monitored including reviewing contracts to ensure they represent best value
Act as the main contact point for organizational procurement related questions
Provide strategic input to support development and decision-making processes
Identify and utilize procurement software and tools o streamline and improve procurement processes
Required Experience:
Minimum 15 years in a similar position within master planning, construction or real estate development field; including Middle East experience
Proven track record of successfully procuring complex projects on time and within budget
Previous experience in a mega projects environment
Experience in effectively managing individuals and complex teams
