About the Role
We are currently looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Assistant to join our clients team on a freelance basis. This role will also provide key support to our Procurement department, making it an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys variety and cross-functional collaboration.
This is a shared role between Finance and Procurement and requires someone who is proactive, well-organized, and confident working in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring smooth financial operations and supporting procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable- Accurately process supplier invoices and ensure correct cost coding.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Support petty cash handling and related reconciliations.
- Assist in month-end closing activities and reporting requirements.
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers on invoice and payment queries.
- Maintain proper records of all payable transactions.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA is a strong advantage (but not mandatory).
- Assist with supplier registration and onboarding processes.
- Prepare and issue local purchase orders.
- Track quotations and maintain procurement documentation.
- Handle vendor communication and follow-up on deliveries or pending documents.
- Maintain and update procurement databases and logs.
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and procedures.
- Proven experience in finance, specifically within accounts payable functions.
- Previous experience supporting procurement or administrative roles is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); SAP S/4HANA experience is preferred.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
