Operations Coordinator – Shipping /Maritime Industry

Job Description
The Operations Coordinator is responsible for preparing and processing Bills of Lading (B/L), managing shipping documentation, and supporting daily logistics operations. The role requires experience in handling Letters of Credit (LC) documentation to ensure full compliance with bank and international trade requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and issue Bills of Lading based on shipping instructions
- Verify accuracy of shipment details including shipper, consignee, cargo description, quantity, and ports
- Ensure all B/L sets are prepared according to customer and bank requirements
- Coordinate with shipping lines for B/L confirmations, amendments, and releases
- Prepare and review shipping documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates
- Ensure compliance of documents with Letter of Credit (LC) requirements
- Maintain accurate filing and documentation records
- Coordinate with shipping lines and airlines for shipment scheduling
- Monitor cargo movement from booking to final delivery
- Handle document amendments and corrections when required
- Liaise with customers, agents, and banks regarding shipment and documentation status
- Provide timely updates on cargo movement and document dispatch
- Ensure all documentation complies with international shipping regulations
- Follow company policies and banking requirements for trade documentation
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of shipping documentation and Bill of Lading preparation
- Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or shipping operations
- Hands-on experience with export documentation under Letters of Credit (LC)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and shipping documentation systems
