About the Company:
A privately-owned European hotel group operating a portfolio of full-service, mid-range hotels across the United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced and visionary Human Resources Director to lead the strategic development of their HR function across all properties.There is no established HR function now ;it has to be assembled from scratch it is a green field .
Position Summary:
The Human Resources Director will be responsible for establishing, leading, and managing the full Human Resources function for the groups portfolio of hotels. This is a strategic and hands-on role, reporting directly to the Group General Manager.The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in building the HR team from the ground up, shaping HR policies, systems, and culture, and ensuring compliance with UAE labor laws. The role requires strong leadership, deep local knowledge, and a proactive approach to talent acquisition, development, and retention.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years experience in Human Resources, with at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role within the UAE hospitality industry.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience building and scaling HR departments in multi-property hotel environments.
- In-depth knowledge of UAE labor laws and HR best practices.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
- Hands-on, resourceful, and able to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Leadership:
- Develop and implement a group-wide HR strategy aligned with the companys business objectives.
- Build and lead a centralized HR team to support all 11 properties.
- Partner with senior management on organizational development and workforce planning.
- HR Operations & Compliance:
- Ensure all HR practices and policies are compliant with UAE labor laws and best practices.
- Design and implement group-wide HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
- Oversee employee relations, grievance handling, and disciplinary procedures.
- Talent Acquisition & Management:
- Design recruitment strategies to attract top hospitality talent across all hotel functions.
- Develop and manage onboarding, orientation, and induction programs.
- Implement succession planning and career development pathways.
- Training & Development:
- Launch learning and development initiatives to foster employee growth and engagement.
- Work closely with department heads to identify training needs and programs.
- Performance Management:
- Implement a performance management system with clear KPIs and appraisal processes.
- Drive a culture of accountability and recognition.
- Compensation & Benefits:
- Review and structure competitive salary and benefits packages.
- Monitor industry benchmarks and ensure internal equity.
- HR Technology:
- Identify and implement HR systems and tools to improve efficiency and reporting.
