We are looking for a highly experienced and safety-focused Marine Pilot to navigate vessels within port limits and restricted waters. If you are an expert in vessel handling with strong knowledge of local waters, regulatory requirements, and maritime risk management, this role offers a critical opportunity to contribute to safe and efficient port operations within the Maritime Cluster.

Job Purpose
To ensure the safe and efficient navigation of vessels entering or leaving the port and navigating through restricted waterways by utilizing expert knowledge of local marine conditions, regulatory requirements, and navigation techniques.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
Pilot vessels safely in and out of port and through restricted waterways.
Use navigational charts, radar, AIS, and electronic systems to assess vessel condition and routing readiness.
Conduct pre- and post-pilotage debriefings and file incident reports when necessary.
Identify potential navigational risks and develop mitigation plans.
Participate in the development of pilotage standards and operational procedures.
Stay informed on pilotage best practices and local port/harbor changes.
Ensure full compliance with port authority and international maritime safety standards.
Represent the organization as a maritime subject matter expert.
Conduct pilot training and development initiatives as needed.
Management and Research
Provide operational insights to improve pilotage service delivery.
Support safety audits and incident investigations related to vessel movements.
Qualifications- A valid STCW Regulation II/2 Master (Unlimited) Certificate of Competency (CoC) issued in accordance with the STCW Convention.
- A minimum of four (4) years of full, unrestricted service as a licensed Class 1 Marine Pilot:
- Excluding training periods and assessment phases.
- Service must include pilotage of ships without limitations on type, size, or tonnage.
- Experience in Single Point Mooring (SPM) or floating terminal operations shall not be considered.
- A minimum of two (2) years of prior service as Master on board commercial vessels:
- Experience aboard offshore supply vessels, tugs, or small craft shall not be accepted.
- Strong ship-handling skills across a broad range of vessel types.
- Familiarity with port regulations, navigational safety protocols, and emergency response.
- Commitment to safety, discipline, and operational excellence.
- Fluency in English (Arabic is a plus)
